That certainly clears up the confusion. Because your car is an 11/87 production, I am confident that what I explained in my other post that the 6/88 production figure was the projected time for North American E28M5 production. This number was most likely given by BMW, although it does not appear any M5s were produced after 11/87, and perhaps determining where any M5 may lie in total production is possible but it may take some research.

My last numbers of the VIN are 2875366. The build date is 11/87 not 10/87. This should clear up some of the confusion. So it does look like mine is one of the final 4.
