I've swapped once with M5 rotors, and have warped again in about 12K miles. This is with no track, no racing, no autox - just mostly daily driving and occasional trips.

I'm going with 7 series rotors now. They're way cheaper, and I won't have to swap them again for a while.

The 7 rotors are 28mm wide vs. 30mm for M5 rotors, so you can use the same pads, just make sure you don't let them get too worn.

I have 60,000 miles on '88M5. Have front end shimmy at about 60-65mph with definite pulsating when braking at higher speeds. My shop says front end is fine but rotors are warped. I drive car about 3M per year. Do I really need 7 series rotors or will stock set do ok? If 7 series rotors are used which brake pads do I use? Thanks for any help for this tech challenged owner!
