In Reply to: Why Are These Two Rear Rotor Numbers Be Different? posted by Tim In PA on July 18, 2001 at 08:52:19:

I am looking into the E34 Rear Calipers and rotors for my 88 M5. Here is what I came up with for the rotors:

750 300X20 Ventilated 34 21 1 162 967
M5 300X20 Ventilated 34 21 1 165 265

Why is there a difference in these numbers?
They have the same list price of $81.50

The E-32 740/750 uses a different axle than the E-34. The longer axle is used to make the E-32 wheel track wider and that makes the hat on the rotor taller. Therefore the 740/750 rotor will NOT fit on the E-34.
