The brake thrust arm bushings are bad. This is a typical problem with the E28 chassis. These are the suspension arms that run from the bottom of the strut back (as opposed to the control arms, which point laterally toward the center of the car). The bushings are at the chassis mount. Not too long ago, my front rotors warped and had to be replaced. At the same time, I had the center drag link replaced, the front end aligned and the tires balanced. Immediately afterwards, my front end began to shimmy when I was between 55 and 65 MPH. The shimmy disappears above and below that range of speeds. Does anyone know what's going on? Thanks.
