My car is demonstrating symtoms (rear suspension squeak,sluggish cornering) that suggest a rear subframe bushing issue-I don't have the expertise to change them myself-what would be a ballpark figure for professional
replacement of the bushings?-any info would be great!

Greg,
I just went through changing the two outer subframe bushings- I had it done as I did not have the special puller or the patience to mess with it. By the time we got into it, (and you may find it too) we changed the sub bushings the two lower dogbones and the differentail mount which is special for the M5 vs a regular 535. Bad u-joint in the driveshaft too.
Total cost w/ labor without drive shaft about $700.00 Factory rebuilt D-shaft $800.00 For anyone,I recommend Bimmer Tech In Brea, CA Ted VanDerKolk 714-255-0990

I now have what feels like a brand new car. 88M5 #2791032 115,000 miles.
