M5 From Dallas to Durham, NC - Good Shops/Folks? (archive)

I'm picking up an E28 M5 in Dallas and driving it to Durham, NC next week. I plan to take the southern route: I-20 and I-85.

Are there any good shops or handy folks more or less along that route in case I get into trouble?

I've known this one owner car and its history since it was 1 year old. All maintenance has been done at John Robert BMW in Dallas and I'm meeting with a fella over there before I leave to get a printout of the service records.

The car has about 75,000 miles on it.

I've been lurking quitely on this list for quite a while, waiting to pick up this car.

I'm looking forward to this road trip and the beginning of what I hope will be a great BMW adventure.
