I think it would be very tough (but not impossible) to do in the car, not to mention messy. I would recommend against it, unless you just plan on doing the upper surfaces or something. Just take a look at your seats and imagine wet sanding them and painting them in the car. I wouldn't try it.

I just ordered mine today, they have some great deals for BMW owners at the moment.

Todd, after having done the procedure yourself, would you ever consider leaving the seats in the car or is it just much easier to work on them with them removed?

Thanks for taking the time to document your work, I will be using it when I do mine in a week or so.
