Brake pads/rotor, opinions please... (archive)

I am thinking about attending the BMWCCA driving school at Road Atlanta in October. Should I get some high performance pads to use for the school? I have pretty much decided to stick with the stock rotors after reading the info on the following page(and elsewhere):

However, I am not sure that the stock pads will be up to the challenge. One of the contributors on the aformentioned page talks about Cool Carbon pads being very good on his M5. Has anyone used these? Know where you can find them?
