The BMW Parts Catalog on CD lists the E28/E24 M5/M6 cat as a remanufactured unit, different part number from the E34 unit. The E34 part looks suprisingly similar. Does anyone know if the E34 M5 cat (just the cat, not the muffler) is the same as the E28 M5? I know some aftermarket companies list them as the same part. What about BMW?

Anyone have an aftermarket or original M5 cat for sale here?
