.....and I love the fact that you've kept it all original. I would have loved an e28 M5 myself but a tad bit out of my price range. Also, I needed something with lower maintenance requirements (i.e daily driver) hence my 535is.
Congratulations!
Mark
Hi Mark, and thanks for the compliments!
I agree with you about leaving the M5 stock. I think the BMW designers and engineers did a fine job with this car and I have nothing to improve on it. Well, there is that issue of the missing horsepower that the US government stole from us - I would like that back! Perhaps a minor engine upgrade is in my future.
Your choice of a 535is for a sporty, daily driving four door is an excellent one. My wife and I use the M5 a lot for commuting and daily driving. The car has been quite expensive to keep running properly. A 535is would have been a better choice for us, and certainly would be a more fun and smooth car to drive in the city than the M5.
Our other car is this creampuff 325I. It is much better suited for daily in-town driving. I love this car. It also is stock except for leather seats from a 325is, additional guages and an upgraded stereo (and of course the goofy looking bike rack). It is the best car I have ever owned. If anyone is interested, it'll be for sale sometime next month - I'm buying a....a.... minivan. There, I said it. I'M BUYING A MINIVAN. I hate minivans, but with a pregnant wife I think I'm going to need one, and quick. So the two door 325 has got to go.
When I pick up that minivan I'll instantly age 15 years! Wish BMW made one...
Cheers,
Jeff
