That is a very short tire for an E28, by about 4.6%. You will greatly appreciate the gearing advantage of that short a tire but the car will look funny with tiny rubber bands. Also, do you really want to run less tread width than what came stock (225) on your M5? An easy 17" tire is a 225-45/17 which is almost identical in diameter. Save the 215-40/17's for your neighbor's Honda Civic.

Hi guys, i have a chance to purchase 215/40/17 Yoko.A520's that are neatly wrapped around a fine set of throwing star rims....any opinions on the A520's and most importantly, is that an odd size for my E28 M5 ? i think it may not work (load ratings???).
PLEASE...any info. would be of great help!
