Slip the belt on int he direction the engine turns as far as you can. Then just turn the engine over, walla, it slips right on.

Ok, it took a couple trips to NAPA, but here is a belt that doesn't require you to remove the compressor or cut the belt to get the damn thing off!
NAPA Premium XL belt (Gates) 9319-size is 12.5/13mm x 820mm
