Todd:

I recommend you get Sachs Mintex Street pads (orange box). They have the same bit cold as Pagids and do not dust. They are cheapest at BMA Auto Parts. Dealer pads are probably Jurid and dust like hell and are no better in grip.

Which brake light comes on? Fluid level or pad wear? If former, and the level is fine, just clean things and reassmeble to make sure float is fine and in time the seals in the master fall apart and may clog stuff. If latter, the sensor may have a ground fault. Check things around the sensor harness near the wheel.

Looks like the rear pads on my 88, 535is are ready to be replaced. Any recommendations? How are the dealer pads? I won't be racing...maybe some aggressive commuting. Also the brake light comes on during acceleration and goes off when I decelerate. Any ideas? Brake fluid level looks o.k. Sensor wires are intact. Thanks. Todd Frye
