88 M5 with 170k, original owner. Drove fine. Power felt good. Suspension tight. Brakes good. I bit skittish when braking hard into a corner over some rough road. Not a lot of rattles.

Body is straight with small rust spotted at ea. jack point, around tail lights, and inside trunk.

Tach and temp gauge were not working, but rest of electronics looked good. Interior is very good.

Spotted some signs of an oil leak in the garage where he's had it parked for a while, and this concerned me.

The owner did not get hands-on with the maintenance, but let a shop do all the regualr service. He didn't have all the records, but said I could speak with the place he had it serviced. He has never had any problems with the car and it's been used for long highway commutes mostly.

Asking price is $7500.

My goal is a dependable daily driver that I could do 4-6 driving schools over the course of a year.

I understand the engine life to be about 200k, and I don't want to buy into a money pit that I'll take a big hit on if I sell in 2-3 years.

Your advice will be greatly appreciated.
