No this is not a Car and Driver comparo. I took the M5 to the track and beat up on some cars including two new WRX's, two Lotus Esprits, a Porsche Boxster S. The only car that I had to point by all day was a Z06 (lapped me twice in the same session). Also had a heck of a lot of fun dicing with an E36 M3 and a LT1 Corvette. All three of us were evenly matched and I spent seven laps trying to pass the Corvette but he was too fast.

The M5 can still hold it's own against newer cars costing thousands more. Now all I need is an E34 M5 engine so I can mess with the newer Corvette's.
