Trying (still) to track down an annoying oil leak from the front of my engine. Spent some time with degreaser, a miror and a light in there today. Higest point of sludge on the engine is two circular "ports" on the front of the head. They are both more or less directly below the camshaft oilseal cover. They are located on the (here I will show my ignorance) "lower part" of the head, between gasket 2 and 3 (assuming valve cover gasket is 1, then there is a gasket below the cams (2), then there is a 3rd gasket (head to block I assume - this is the one my mechanic thought might be leaking). One is near the center of the head, about 4cm diameter, and has a large slot in it. The other is about 2-3 cm in diameter, and has a hole in the center (1cm) that appears to have threads in it. I suspect one or both of these may be leaking. Can someone please let me know what these are, and whether they are likely candiated for oil leaks. Thanks!
