My guess is that you're ok. Mine does basically the same thing, but sooner and only lasts 1 sec or so - "zzzzzt", then we're off.

Hi, I've had my M5 for about 3 months and noticed that within 30 seconds of moving the car the self leveling pump runs for about 3 seconds, never more, never less. Is this the way it is supposed to work? Can it level about any load in just a few seconds? I can't tell by looking at the car but it always seems level. I've had some pretty heavy stuff in the trunk. Seems fine but...
