If it is not too much trouble, I would like to know the M5 ride height specs in case I ever need them.

The SLS controller is located under the car, just above the differential and slightly to the driver's side. The controller has a positioning arm that is attached to the sway bar. You can loosen one nut on the U-bolt that attaches to the sway bar and rotate the bracket to experiment with the change in body height. The ignition must be in the run position. Unplugging the pump harness (beneath rear seat cushion) will disable the pump from raising or lower the height, meaning your ride height will stay the same. Taking out the pump relay only disables the pump from pumping up the system. The system may still bleed down fluid to try to lower the car if it's in a position where it may be high. I have the factory recommended height measurement (from bottom rim of wheel, thru center of wheel, to lip of wheel well opening) in my files. Let me know if you need them. Some may think that the factory setting is too high, which leaves a space above the rear tires and the wheel well lip, and sacrifice tire where for better aesthetics. Let me know if you want me to dig the data out. It's different for M5's vs. M6's.

I recently filled the reservoir for the self leveling system with the recommended Pentosin CHF 7.1 hydrallic mineral oil. The next morning the rear end of the car raised several inches and has remained there since. Does anyone have a working knowledge of the SL system. It appears that it is controlled by a switch of some sort located on or near the rear sway bar. Is there a way to manually overide the system? Will unplugging the pump return it to a normal ride height? Thanks in advance.
