All great info, thanks to everybody.
So lets say the compression comes up 10 to 20 once I get the car to sea level, tune it up and so forth. Will I have a car that I can drive dependably for a year or two ?

My goal is to use the car for basic transportation while I do the typical stuff like brakes, bushings, seals and all the rest.

I also want to do the cam gear, would help in performance and or hurt the engines dependability ?

Even though it sounds like this car will be a lot of work I'm excited about owning a piece of history. I just hope I can afford it.
