thanks sean for all your help, but i have replaced the thermostat, flushed the radiator, but had the same problem. changed out the fan clutch and i think it is fixed. havent been too long in traffic but have notice the increase in temp now to be really slow compared to the other times. i bought my m5 back in march and had the odometer gear break on me a month ago. when i took out the cluster, i saw that batteries were installed because it was using what looked to be an external battery supply. i have heard that this setup deactivates the inspection lights and last the lifetime of the board. so i dont think that is the problem but rather it be a mechanical one.
