...happened to me once when I had put in new pads when it was cold outside and broke them in and drove the car only in the early morning and later evening. I had no problems with them until the temp warmed up outside and the pads expanded and then I guess and air bubble released out of the master cylinder. I was able to drive the car maybe 2 miles before the brakes overcame the power of the car, basically in first gear I couldn't even move. I actually went under the dash and added some more pedal travel(a procedure I outline in my technical pages). Fearing that the calipers were seized and that if I touched the brakes it would happen again, I decided to use the parking brake the rest of the way home. Only about 2 miles. Once I got home I used a blow dryer on each caliper and then reset the pedal travel. Now when it is cold out, the pedal has some more travel, but I don't have to worry about them seizing up on me. The Dealer now reckons it's the Master Cylinder, but none in the UK. Got to come from Germany.
