The s38 engine is long and heavy. It is good engine though. It is not the ideal engine for a conversion. Too long. Ask Mike Morris from Schneller in Mass. He did the conversion and had to overcome a lot of trouble to do it.

With the availablity of the S52 from the e36 M3, you get as much power, get more reliablity, more availablity of engines at a cheaper price. This is an easier conversion too.
