Not removing the head will save $170 for the gasket set and $100+_for the TTY bolts. To say nothing of labour.
You can remove the cambox in twenty mins? Do you have the camshaft removal tool or do you just do the half-turn per cam bearing nut at a time very fast? I took 2 hours to do this. Just removing the rear inclined cap on the cambox took me 20 mins.

Did ALL sprockets, ALL guides, chain, side rails, tensioner gaskets etc WITHOUT removing the head. It's a bit fidly and you have to be careful not to compromise the head gaskets when removing the front cam cover but it can be done and saves buckets of money. Big part of the job is getting the crankshaft nut off and the sprocket. Sprocket is an interference fit so needs a very good puller to remove.
I can provide more info if you need it.

PS removing the cam box is a 20 minute job. I had mine of about 5 times now - valve cl;earances etc.
There is only the hard way.
You have to remove the cams, cam box and the head!
I have don the job on a M5 with the M88 single chain engine.
