Thanks again guys - got plenum off just as described. ICV out, thing was clean enough to drink out of, hoses looked good. It was fun to see butterflys and peer down in there. Butterflys had some oil on them, and were black around edges, and there were black rings around inside of tbodies at butterfly location. Cleaned it all out, but it really was pretty clean.

For kicks I checked my AFM output at the ECU plug, seemed to be fine. Then for even more kicks I pulled the cover off the AFM. Looked good. There are tracks where pointers rub, but I don't think it's a problem. Spring may have been tampered with in the past, as there was a scratch mark on gear 2 teeth away from where it was set, maybe the original position. SO I moved it back there, have left the cover unglued for now. No chance to get a good test drive yet, but I know the cold driveabilty problem is unchanged, as it did it when I drove car around the block just to make sure it still ran when I was finished. FWIW, I will take a photo of the inside of the AFM for anyone who hasn't seen one naked - should be on website in a few days.
