This is also happening with my M5. I sent $150 to have a shop do the center support and it didn't solvetheproblem, it just changed the rmp of when the vibration occurs.

Everyone I talk to says the BMW shafts are non-servicable. I used a drive line company a few years back on my F150 that did a great job. So what the hell, I called them and guess what, he did three BMW rebuilds that day and says he does easily 10 a week.

The issue with these shafts is that the U-joints are "staked" and the tooling to work with this type of a drive line is substancial. This company has thetooling and charge $225.00 which includes the center support and two U-joints. The only thing is you have to take the drive shaft off and bring it in to them.

The company is Drive Line Service - 310-515-2860. They are located in Gardena California.

I'm sure there are other shops that have the same tooling to work with this type of drive line. I would look around, it's doesn't have to cost 400+ especially if you take the shaft off yourself.

Philo.
