they do use the same backing plate though. The pad material is just not as thick on the Bavaria/tii pads. The M5 pads are identical to the early 6 series, 528i and E23 sevens.

Using the e28 M5 front calipers, are the stock rotors better or e32 740i rotors? Thanks.

Do you know the M5 calipers use the 1972 Bavaria/Tii brake pads with slots for the wear sensor's?
Next time try the E32 calipers,slotted rotors,and E32 master cylinder(all bolt-on);Pulls the car out of warp right quick.No warpage or excessive heat at 125MPH tracks for 3 days.Ask me how I know...
