All:
My M5 needs a new exahaust (cat back). B and B is too expensive right now ($850 from the mfr.). Anyone know of a discounted source for these? How about other stainless steel muffler options? OE replacements run around $550 - $580 I think, but I'd like to go aftermarket. B and B is the only performance exhaust I know of for these cars, but if anyone else has other sources or a slightly used one for sale I'd appreciate any leads. Thanks.

Unfortunately you are out of luck. Not many aftermarket parts avialable for our old cars! The ones that exist usually get top $. I had a B&b but it got too load for me after a couple of years! The boom on the freeway got really annoying. I eventually went back to stock and got "bass boat seat mounts" (test pipes) put in. The car has a mellow tone and a raspy/sexy roar at full throttle. This is what non-catalyst euro M5's must sound like. I was told that the US stock system is less restrictive than the euro one to make up for the cat. I didn't notice any power loss compared to the B&B system. Only one drawback....mother nature!
