Very interesting post. The first time I took my car (160k miles) to 6k was with a friend who races Alfas and he jumped on the throttle big time all the was to 6k through 3rd gear.

I swear, and I'm not being perinoid or making this up, but the engine misses at idle a lot more then it did when I got it 30 days ago, and the chain noise from the front of the engine seems to be louder.

Although she does run better with the radio on :))
