The plenum normally collects a certain amount of "blow-by" oil. There is a rubber hose, attached to the bottom middle of the plenum, that returns this oil to the dipstick tube. It is not uncommon for this tube to clog, in which case oil may pool in the plenum, increasing apparent oil usage. If there is a pool of oil in there, fix the hose.

hey guys, this past weekend i replaced my starter, wow how awesome is it to start the car on your first try. but to get to the starter, i needed to remove the air accumulator, the big thing with the 24-6 on it. well when i removed it, the intake horns were really dirty. i think it comes from the k&n filter oil. I believe that if you put the filter in while it is still wet after the recharge, some og the oil gets sucked in. i guess the owner before me didnt look into this. well the trottle plates were black. i cleaned it with carb cleaner and what a difference. the car idles much smoother and seems to have a smoother and quicker acceleration. i do advise for everybody to take a look at this.

email if you have any questions
