Sheldon,

Trying to eliminate the same jerky problem, I found that my Throttle Position Sensor (switch) was indeed out of adjustment.

In a quiet environment, you should be able to hear the microswitch "click" just as you begin to work the throttle linkage - that is just as the linkage starts to come off of the stops.

Try allowing the throttles to close very slowly and verify that the switch still clicks when you again open the throttle.

In my case, the throttle linkage had to snap shut in order to close enough for the TPS to catch.

I marked the existing location of the TPS with a scribe just in case, then I loosened the two screws, moved the switch just a minute amount and tightened the screws. The TPS then worked just as it should.

Unfortunately, this didn't help the jerky condition at all.

Douglas
