The B35 head is made for the Motronic cam. You're going to need to swap a lot of parts over from the earlier head to make L-jet work (cam, distributor, etc). Plus, you'll need to match up the L-jet sensors with the ports in the B35 motor (coolant temp, thermo time switch, etc.) I don't remember off hand which FI uses which components, but for example this is an issue regarding the intake on B34 vs B35 motors - the B34 Motronic intake has a cold start valve port whereas the B35 motronic intake does not. I can't tell you from memory which sensors/FI components need what and where between the motors, unfortunately. You can look thru a parts catalog and see the differences in FI components though.

Personally, I would leave the FI systems with their respective engines or engine components. (i.e. B34 head with B34 Motronic, B35 head with B35 Motronic). You're asking for too much trouble. However, the early L-jet 3.5 head is actually the same casting as the B34 head. So swapping components between those two is easier - though you still need to disassemble the head to do the work and it's not a simple affair for the average DIY. In fact, internal engine mods I do not recommend for average DIYers, but engine swapping is relatively easy and painless (if you know some about electricals).

Plus the B35 Motronic is so much better, why downgrade to L-jet?
