Then, take the interior door panel off, keep the mindo in the "up" position, remove the clear plastic vapor cover, reach in with needle nose pliers to the flat pressure clip that holds the lock in place. Once this is removed the next trick is to detach the locking rod or arm from the lock barrel. It's held in with a plastic clip that is tough to get off but is doable. The hardest part is this is getting enough access in behind the door paned to work in a coordinated fashion. Once the locking rod is off the barrel will fall out on the exterior side of the door.
Took me 3 hours, a good project for a Saturday afternoon.
