After riding with Ralph Schubert in his e30 M3 (a 61.7 run, his second best of the day) I now know what he means by braking hard before the turns. His hard braking is more of a controled panic stop. Riding with him was like a really fast lap on EA's need for speed. This guy is fast. Had I stayed longer I was going to let him take my car on the course to see what he could get out of it.
The one thing I need to fix is my speed through the turn, it made the car understeer quite a bit. If I came to slow then I would have to control the oversteer. The solution would be to drive like Ralph but I am not that good and I would feel abusive to the car. I guess if I keep taking it out I will start buying track tires and pay more attention to the go fast details of the M5. I'm thinking tires should give me a couple of seconds since I was getting a bit of sidewall flex.
The cars in my class were all Camaros and Mustang 5.0's and one 300zx. The winner was a LS1 (is that right?) Camaro. Kind of makes me feel as if I was racing the grocery getter.
Oh well enough rambling
