Marcus:

Sounds like a very cool project. I'll be interested to see the pictures and comments on the transplant.

I think the larger exhaust will make a huge difference on that engine. The 3.8L M5 catalyst was specially free flowing AFAIK as compared even to the S38B36.

My buddy Sean Steele at Autobahn in El Cajon, CA picked up a Euro 3.8 in Sweeden and has convinced me to do the big swap; it didn't hurt that I drove DCVING5 either (shh, don't tell Carl).

Tony at La Jolla Independent is going to do the work for me. Since Carl Nelson bought DCVING5 5 from Crosier, it should help a lot for reference. I plan on documenting as much as possible on my web page. Can anyone else point me to other possible references/documentation for this job?

I saw the exhaust off a Euro E34 M5 and MY GOD, it is enormous. I could probably run my arm up the tailpipe if I wanted. What kind of effect will running my stock exhaust system have on the performance of the bigger motor (256hp vs 340)?

Thanks,
-Marcus
