can someone please clarify where the mixture screw(s) are on my e28 M5. I have trying to troubleshoot a rich running condition for a few days. This may be the cure to my problem. Thanks

The idle CO mixture screw Todd is referring to in located on the AFM under a brown or blue plug.
Since this adjustment only provides a slight offset of the AFM I doubt it is causing your problem based on what you have written.

I would first check the AFM air temp sensor and the DME coolant sensor. When these sensors fail they tend to increase in resistance and the increase in resistance indicate a colder air or coolant temperature which would cause a richer than normal mixture. Also make sure the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator is connected and the hose is in good condition.
