12k is not far off. FYI, clean well cared for cars in the 70 kmiles range are usually about 14-17k. Bluebook doesn't have a clue.

Thinking of buying a 1988 M5. 113K miles. Premium wheels/tires, with a short-shifter. Owner passed away and his wife is selling. I know the mechanic personally (services my car) and he assures me the guy absolutely babied it. Interior is so-so.

She's asking around $12K. Blue Book says $5,800. Am I missing something, or is she insane? Also, any general advice, warnings, etc. associated with this car?

Thanks in advance.

Matt
