If you decide to pass on the car, be sure to post where it is and how others might be in contact the seller! The 1k per year on maintenance is about right in my opinion. But it is a great car to drive and is worth the money.

Thinking of buying a 1988 M5. 113K miles. Premium wheels/tires, with a short-shifter. Owner passed away and his wife is selling. I know the mechanic personally (services my car) and he assures me the guy absolutely babied it. Interior is so-so.

She's asking around $12K. Blue Book says $5,800. Am I missing something, or is she insane? Also, any general advice, warnings, etc. associated with this car?

Thanks in advance.

Matt
