Thinking of buying a 1988 M5. 113K miles. Premium wheels/tires, with a short-shifter. Owner passed away and his wife is selling. I know the mechanic personally (services my car) and he assures me the guy absolutely babied it. Interior is so-so.

She's asking around $12K. Blue Book says $5,800. Am I missing something, or is she insane? Also, any general advice, warnings, etc. associated with this car?

Thanks in advance.

Matt

The M stand for MORE POWER & More MONEY! Make sure you do your homework and KNOW what you are buying! This is a very rare and fast sedan. This car needs a scream to redline once in a while. You may have to defend the Motorsport logo against Mustangs 5.0's and souped-up Honda's/Acura's! LOL The price is fair for such a rare and collectible car. PS. It is rated at 11mpg in the city and 19 highway!
