What problems are you having? The usual problem is failure of one of the hydraulic accumulators, not the dampers themselves.

BTW, you cannot just replace the dampers, you'll have to replace the springs, too. Look for the parts from a 535is.

Yep. That's about right. If one side of the self levelling is is not functioning, then it's probably the accumulator. If the shock is leaking, well, you get the idea. Maximillian and ALLOEMBMWPARTS.com are two sources for OE and OEM parts at good discounts.

If you want to replace the rear self-levelling, Maximillian sells a full kit. You need 535i perches, M-Technic rear springs, and shocks. The M5 perches and springs are different, and do not give the correct ride-height. I used 535i rear springs, same as any US 535is, and the rear ride height is still too low, especially if you put anything in the back. Get the M-Technic springs and either Boge Turbo Gas (for comfort) or Bilstein HD for performance.

I'm going to go with Ground Control adjustable perches and 350 or 400lb/in springs this week.
