Jeff:

For the E34 keeping the LAD/SLS is the easiest route. Many smart people have run into issues with even the Dinan replacements. Spring not seating well, dampers needing bump stop trimming, overload indicators coming on, etc., etc.

IMHO, the only reason to dump the LAD is the need for a stiffer suspension for track work or very spirited on-road driving.

Just kinda surfing around the boards tonight and saw your post. First things first, I do not have an E-28; however I have an E-24 and E-34--both wear the M badge.

I am a fan the interactive (self-leveling) suspension. I have in one of my previous 6 -coupes changed to bilstein--biggest mistake of the car's life it hoovered.

They are goofy as all get go, but the SLS, I believe is the best suspension on these cars for stock use. And don't even think about mcpherson strutts--been there done that.

Happy motoring.

I was wondering how much the rear struts would cost!!!

Or should I just remove the self leveling system!!!
And replace with regular bilstein's!!!

Thanks, Doug
