I suppose it's because these are the OEM springs SPECIFCALLY DESIGNED to be used with the M5 w/o self levelling. They are clearly different parts than the 535 springs. I don't need to know why they are different, I would much rather just put the proper part on the car. My guess is they are stiffer - remember you have a 155mph car in the M5...
