Armando:

Could it be the slave/master is failing and incompletely disengaging the clutch? This would cause the hard shifts and creep.

My master went quite suddenly last week, and I did not notice any difference in the clutch feel before it, but better the cylinders than the clutch itself, right.

I think there is a BMW tool that can be inserted into the tranny to determine clutch disc wear.

While I was leaving a restaurant this afternoon I had a hard time engaging the car on reverse, and noticed the rest gears a little hard, however after a few minutes on the road things seem to go back to normal.

I went back to the office and a few hours later I left, and again, I had a hard time engaging the car in first gear. The clutch felt a little soft, and while engaged on first gear, the car began to "walk". The rest of the way home went OK, but the clutch definitely has a different "feel"

Do I need a new clutch? or could it be something else? What am I looking in terms of $$.

My car is a US 88M5 with 117k miles.

I would appreciate any input you guys may have.

Thanks,

Armando
