All leather shifters for the E28, E30, E24, E23, etc. are the SAME. You can order different emblems to go in the shifter from the dealer or other aftermarket BMW parts house.

I personally like the E36 leather knob. It's slightly taller and ergonomically shaped. About $50, maybe less if you can get a good BMW CCA discount from your dealer. There are many different emblems that go in those knobs. The emblems for the E36 knob do not fit the E28 knob.
