I drove the car pretty hard this morning. The only kick in the powerband I felt was when I slapped the gas at 3000RPM in 2nd gear. What a rush! The engine pulls smoothly and strongly from 2000 RPM in any reasonable gear. I love it!

But the E34 M5 engine conversion sounds mighty tempting! 315HP (stock), air mass metering system, better exhaust headers, intake resonance flap, etc, etc....
