See if you can get it checked out by an M-knowlegeable mechanic. While many parts are similar to your other 5-ers, the drivetrain is quite different and can be breathtakingly expensive to repair. Also, the interior parts (all the leather-covered stuff) are quite pricey and hard to find.

If the car hasn't been well maintained, you could be in for some problems. $2500 is a steal, as you could part it out for more than that, but keep your eyes open.
