From what I have heard the fork replacement should be less than $500 at Blanton Transmissions. MUCH easier that replacing synchros.

Hey Neil, my 285 has a bent fork from a gorilla autocross instructor. Are you implying that replacing or bending it back might be a relatively simple task, at least far short of a rebuilt?

I would try and sell Jim Blanton your used trannies and see if he'll give you something off the price of the rebuild ($2500 or so). These are tough to rebuild, unless you have just worn forks or something, so the cores are pretty useless to you.

the used tranny came out of am m6 of the same era, I was on a roadtrip and had no other options...the second gear syhchronized is shot on the tranny in the car now...so I have no second gear...
