I just opened the kick panel, and noticed that the clutch master cylinder bracket is cracked.

Do you need to remove the steering column to replace the bracket? Is it one piece?

Thanks, that's pretty much the consensus. Replacing the whole plate entails taking apart the pedal assembly.

The bracket takes a lot of stress and its probably a common problem with all e28s with standard trans.
