Thanks Neil, This was on my 528e, not the M5.

The hardest part was not getting the tabs off the batteries, just used a sharp razor knife, but was re-soldering the tabs on the new batteries. When they got hot enough for the solder to bond the battery would start to fry, smoke and then melt. After I was done I tested the voltage and all looked good. Not sure how the will perform long term though. For $149.00 you can buy a new SI board. Might consider this if I have problems down the road.

The trick to this whole proceedure is to take the batteries off heating up the solder points for the battery holder tabs on the back of the circuit board. Once the batteries are off the board it's much easier to get the tabs off and weld them to the new batteries.
