Ok, how does the WOT switch work on the TPS?? (archive)

According to the ETM the Throttle Position Switch should output 2 functions: Closed throttle and Wide Open Throttle. I've verified the Closed position both with an audible click and with a continuity test, but have not been able to verify that the Wide Open condition works. Looks to me like a simple on/off switch inside the sensor. Closed should have continuity between 18 and 2, Wide Open should have continuity between 18 and 3 when in the wide open position. What am I missing here? Could someone verify that this is the case on their engine for me??
