The aluminum flywheel is expensive for the gains yielded. Also, sub 10lb aluminum flywheels ususally allow lots more throwout bearing and pilot bearing noise to be heard. For a street driven car, try a lightened stock flywheel. Ireland engineering charges $150 to lighten most BMW flywheels. You will get about %50 of the weight savings of the AL flywheel for 1/4 the price.Ed
I am getting ready to do a clutch job.. and read some suggestions about a lightened flywheel. Any suggestions on this... good bad.. and places to purchase? Bav auto wants 699.00 for one.. not sure the gain is worth the price.
